About Me

Hello!

My name is Crystal Dougherty, and I am the founder of SignSpeak Services.

Throughout the years, I have had the joy of working in various positions with the Deaf Community including: American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter, Educational Intervention Specialist, Regional Infant Hearing Program (RIHP) Parent Advisor, ASL Teacher, Deaf Education Teacher, and ASL Choir Member.

I have over 10 years of formal teaching experience, but I believe we are all lifelong learners. My drive to learn has earned me the following degrees: an A.A.S. in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting and Education, a B.A. in English, and a M.Ed. in Deaf Education.

I also have a variety of Sign Language Interpreting experiences in settings such as community events, PreK-12th grade classrooms, assemblies, concerts, business meetings, college courses, sports practices, field trips, graduations, grocery stores, trainings, and more.

My passions have been geared toward the empowerment of Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing individuals and those around them. I strive to raise Deaf awareness and share the beauty of American Sign Language with others.
